Just the update!

I know, I know - I SUCK at updating my blog but I never did well at a diary either so I guess it's just who I am!

Anyway, it's been an interesting year so far. Stephen is doing fantastic in 2nd grade and Mike is almost done with his current year of training with Otis Elevator. He's managed to survive layoffs so far and has traveled from Bellingham to Bainbridge Island to Olympia and all spots in between building elevators. Really - who know there were so many elevators in Lynden?!?! :)


I also managed to survive a round of layoffs at AllpakTrojan back in February. It was sad to see so many of my friends go and I had some survivor guilt but overall I'm very glad to be working!!!!


Mike's grandfather passed away earlier this month and his funeral was in Westport on Sunday the 19th. We went down on Friday and spent the weekend down there. Played on the beach, raced crabs in the towns annual crab festival and got a chance to relax prior to the service (pics with this post are from that trip - and that was one TIRED little dude after a few hours at the beach, time in town playing with the crabs, and then a couple hours in the pool after dinner!!!). I sang Amazing Grace and it went very well as long as I kept my eyes closed so I couldn't see all the people crying!!!


Now we are looking forward to the end of the school year, my parents visit from Pennsylvania, and a lot of bike riding. Stephen and I went for quite a ride from the Family Fun Center in Kent to my friends house off of Meeker in Kent. He was so proud of himself for going so far and I'm looking forward to more rides; I'd forgotten how much I love bike riding! :)
